Have you been wanting to improve your seascape photography? Join Daniel Tran, Luke Tscharke, and the NiSi Filters Team to learn how to get the most out of your camera and filters when you shoot along the coast. We can help you take your seascape images to the next level.

This Capture the Coast seascape photography workshop is based based in Narooma, on the South Coast of New South Wales. You will be treated to three nights and two full days (four days total) of dedicated seascape coaching and tuition, both in the field during capture and back at the accommodation including post processing sessions. At the completion of this workshop you will have better knowledge on using your camera and filters to create compelling seascape imagery. A filter expert from NiSi will available during the workshop to help you get the most out of your filters and answer any questions you may have about filters.

GROUP SIZE:10 participants
COURSE RUN TIME:Four days
FITNESS LEVEL:Moderate. Some walking up and down steps. Walking on sandy beaches, rock platforms and areas near rock pools.
SKILL LEVEL:Suitable for all photographers from beginners to experienced photographers
INCLUSIONS:Price includes four day workshop, three nights accommodation,on-location coaching, image post-processing tuition. All food and drink is extra. Does not include ground transport or airfares.
ITINERARY

This workshop features four days and three nights of seascape instruction and coaching at one of Australia’s most incredible coastal environments. Overall you will have the opportunity to photograph three sunsets, three sunrises, and daytime long exposures using NiSi Filters. Itinerary includes:

TRAINING OVERVIEW

The workshop is split between classroom style theoretical and post processing training, and on-location coaching at close-by locations. Theoretical topics covered include:

  • Introduction to Seascapes
  • Creating compelling Seascape compositions
  • Common Seascape subjects and Top Australian Seascape Locations
  • Seascape safety
  • Planning for perfect Seascapes
  • Water motion, using filters to control shutter speed for that perfect water flow
  • Introduction to Seascape post processing
  • Lightroom for Seascapes
  • Photoshop for Seascapes

WHAT TO BRING

The on-location shoots will take place at beaches or rock platforms. Wear suitable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet from salt water. Bring a sturdy pair of shoes that can get wet and provide good grip and protection on the slippery rocks. Rock boots or cleats are recommended.

You will be fully briefed in preparation for the workshop, however please take note of the required and optional items below. If you are unsure what camera gear or other equipment you should bring feel free to contact Dan and Luke.

  • Camera (fully charged batteries, empty memory card)
  • Tripod
  • Lenses (wide angle is better for seascapes)
  • Filters
  • Rock boots, non slip shoes, or cleats
  • Head torch (new or fully charged batteries)
  • Remote timer for camera
  • Camera bag
  • Rain jacket (depending on weather)

Optional

  • Notebook and pen
  • Laptop to follow along during post processing session
